Hand thrown burnished red stoneware planter with matching saucer.
Burnishing is an ancient pottery technique developed before the use of glazes and kilns, in which the clay surface is carefully polished by hand using a stone or tool to create a natural sheen. The result is a richly tactile finish that highlights the warmth and character of the clay.
