meddō is a landscape design and installation firm based in Richmond, VA, dedicated to developing sustainable, regenerative gardens. We are seeking motivated and experienced Field Technicians to join our installation and maintenance team. This is a full-time, year-round position (part-time and/or seasonal engagements may also be considered). As a Field Technician, you will work closely with meddō's Installation & Maintenance Lead and other members of the company to install and maintain projects on our clients' properties. Attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality work are essential.

Responsibilities (include, but are not limited to the following):

​

• Identifying, installing, and caring for a variety of plants

• Landscape maintenance tasks (weeding, pruning, edging, mulching, etc.)

• Assisting in the installation of hardscaping, landscape lighting, and light carpentry

• Ensuring meticulous job sites at all time

• Assisting in the maintenance and servicing of company equipment and tools

• Upholding cleanliness and organization of company property

• Use of meddō’s digital programs (Jobber, Google Workspace, Gusto)

• Assisting in note keeping for maintenance and project tracking

   

Requirements:

• 1+ year landscaping experience

• Education / certification in horticulture or related field (preferred)

• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

• Punctuality and efficiency

• Proficient use of digital programs (mobile and desktop)

• Ability to regularly lift 50+ pounds

• Ability to remain on feet for long periods

• Ability to work outdoors in seasonal extremes

• Ability to communicate with clients in a clear, positive, and friendly manner

• Ability to communicate client, property, and project notes to company management

Hours:

​

This is a full-time, hourly position entailing an average of 35-40 hours per week throughout the year, with seasonal variations. During busy seasons, scheduling may include weekly hours worked in excess of 40 hours, which are eligible for overtime pay. Part-time and/or seasonal engagements may also be considered for those interested.

Compensation:

​

Pay starts at $17.00 per hour, payable in accordance with our biweekly payroll schedule. After six months of employment, we will evaluate your progress and discuss further opportunities for professional growth with the company.
